Menopause depression is a complicated subject because so much happens to women at mid-life. If you (or friends or family members) notice that you seem more down, ill-tempered, apathetic or pessimistic than usual, it may help to keep track of your moods. Midlife is an ideal time for women to focus on taking care of themselves and improving the quality of their lives.
The solution for depression depends upon the severity of your symptoms. Drug therapy and psychotherapy can help victims of depression feel better, become more productive and improve their relationships. Menopause isn’t the end of the world, but depression can feel like it. Perimenopause is defined as the transitional period from normal menstrual periods to no periods at all.
